The first snow of the season coats the mountainside of San Bernardino National Forest.
Cara and I were excited to squeeze in a last minute hike around Big Bear Lake before the snow began to pile up for the winter season. We were able to make our way up Castle Rock Trail for some great 360 views of the lake and surrounding pine forest. On previous trips during the winter trails weren't easily accessible because of the snow pack, so we were excited to be able to finally enjoy them. As we made our way home along route 18 through the San Bernardino mountainside, so did the weather, revealing some really cool clouds and white powder from the first few inches of snow.
