At dusk the last waves of the day break heavily and rumble the Redondo Beach pier.
The waves resembled a massive waterfall as I stood and watched them making their way in and dropping off against the shallow shores underneath the pier. The quickly dipping sun provided some beautiful warm light for this cool sight.

After the rain had passed the wind and heavy surf continued along the Manhattan Beach Pier. A couple of surfers did paddle out into the washer machine like conditions, but mostly it was a day just for viewing the chaotic ocean.

The trail along Portuguese Bend with Catalina Island glowing in the pacific.
I was able to get to the trail head while it was still dark which treated me to the slow reveal of the beautiful views around Palos Verdes. With Catalina Island in the background of the scenic hills it makes for a great morning of zen exploration.
The buildings continue to rise into the skies of Hollywood.
Over the past 3 years of living in Hollywood the construction of new buildings and high rises has steadily picked up. It seems like a new building is opening every couple of months. From small business's to elaborate high rise complexes, that skyline is becoming fuller and fuller as times goes on. As much as I wish there wasn't anything blocking the views in and around town I can appreciate the interesting geometric shapes and views looking up at these new structures.

After hopping in the truck with the road trip crew in San Fransisco we traveling north together out of California and into Oregon. Stopping at many great breweries, camping at new campgrounds, and enjoying all the sights made this trip one of the best. More photos of the journey here.
