Roaming around camp on a clear fall night with my headlamp.
One of my favorite activities while out camping is roaming around in the dark silence to explore and invigorate the senses. This was Joshua Tree a few year back with the city lights of LA glowing in the distance. I'm very excited for some fall camping coming up this month at Fawnskin for the first time and back to Catalina Island. Cooler temperatures and clear skies make hanging out in the outdoors much different than the summer time. The fire becomes not just a fun center point, it provides a comforting warmth and safe haven before hunkering down into tents for the nights sleep.
